Megara was Herakles' first wife. Their children included Therimachus, Deicoon, Creontiades, and Ophites. However, Hera caused Herakles to have a bout of madness during which he threw his children into a fire. Some say he also killed Megara, others that he later gave Megara to his cousin Iolaus. Odysseus saw Megara when he traveled in the underworld.
